The naranjilla (Ecuadorian Spanish, diminutive of "naranja") or lulo (Colombian Spanish, from Quechua) is a subtropical perennial plant from northwestern South America. The juice of the naranjilla or lulo is somewhat green and is used as a beverage. Ripe naranjilla fruit is very delicious, but must be harvested when fully ripe otherwise they can be quite sour. Naranjilla are attractive plants, with large heart shaped leaves up to 30cm in length. The leaves and stems of the plant are covered in short purple hairs. Naranjilla are fairly sensitive and must be protected from strong winds, and grow best in partial shade as full sunlight is too intense.

La naranjilla (español Ecuatoriano, diminutivo de la naranja) o el lulo (español colombiano, de Quechua) es una planta perenne subtropical del noroeste de Suramérica. El jugo de la naranjilla o del lulo es algo verde y se utiliza como bebida. La fruta madura de la naranjilla es muy deliciosa, pero debe ser cosechada cuando están bien maduras, de lo contrario pueden ser bien amargas. La Naranjilla son plantas atractivas, con grandes hojas en forma de corazón hasta los 30cm en longitud. Las hojas y los vástagos de la planta son en fin pelos púrpuras cubiertos. La Naranjilla o Lulo es muy sensible, crece mejor en sombra parcial y se debe proteger contra los vientos fuertes y sol directo intenso.

Juices: Defrost the contents of this package and add 3 ½ cups of water. Add 4 tablespoons of sugar. Stir and serve.

Shakes: Place the contents of this package in blender without defrosting. Add water and sugar as indicated above for juices. Blend and serve.

Jugos: Descongele el contenido de la bolsa y agregue el doble de agua (800cc.). Añada azúcar si desea (se recomienda 4 cucharaditas). Remueva antes de servir.

Batidos: Coloque el contenido de una bolsa sin descongelar en la licuadora. Agregue agua y azúcar en las cantidades mencionadas para jugos. Batéese y sírvase.
